Coast Mountain College is seeking submissions for the development of a design for print and digital distribution that honours the 2021 Graduates of Coast Mountain College.

When Verginia Johnson decided to go back to school, it had been decades since she sat inside a classroom. At 53 years old she enrolled at CMTN to get her BC Adult Graduation Diploma and despite life's hardships, kept going to be a good role model for her grandkids.

National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, also known as Red Dress Day, is an opportunity for all of us to acknowledge the systematic racism and violence against Indigenous women and girls all across Canada, and which many of our students, staff and faculty deal with on a regular basis.

Students are not the only ones to benefit from three major construction projects at Coast Mountain College. An estimated 318 jobs have been created locally on work to build 108 student housing beds, a library renovation and a renewed, more accessible academic and registration hub.

When the opportunity came up for First Nations Access Coordinator Jillian Stephens to help curate a theme for the interior aesthetic of the new student accommodation building, she just couldn’t say no.

Growing up in a single-parent household, Alicia Giang says attending college in her hometown of Prince Rupert while still being able to help out her family was incredible. Through school, she learned about the region and gained a new appreciation for her northern coastal community.

On Monday, May 31 staff, students and faculty at Coast Mountain College are encouraged to wear orange in memory of the children whose remains were found earlier this week at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.
